Abby Novak

She/her

Bozeman, MT

Coached by: Corrine Malcolm

Running Goals:

- Get FASTER over longer distances

- Complete another 100km, and then maybe a 100 miler!

- Find a training volume that works best for my goals and lifestyle

I've been running since middle school, but it wasn't until college that I found my love for extra long weekend trail runs, which turned into marathon training, then 50 mile training, then 100km training. This progression felt so natural to me because I just love to run far! Trail running is now somewhere I build relationships and achieve personal goals.

As someone who loves racing and wants to get faster, I applied to this scholarship for the opportunity to train with professional guidance, despite limitations to coaching. The All-In team offers invaluable, inclusive support, and I couldn't miss out on that! I hope to inspire other runners to pursue opportunities like this one, as well as chase their trail running dreams.

Ash Cray

She/they

Ellsworth, ME

Coached by: Danielle Snyder

Running Goals: - Run my first 100 mile race!

- Continue to find joy through running!

- Support those around me in their running journeys!

Growing up in the woods of Maine, I began hiking and skiing at a young age. In middle and high school, I dedicated most of my energy to competitive nordic skiing. After graduating, I started running more frequently and found a love and passion for trail running!

Running has always been a safe space for me, teaching me to work hard, have fun, and be bold. I want to learn as much as I can about the sport and share the joy with all runners! This year, I'm excited to expand my understanding of running, build my strength and grit, and have an absolute blast meeting new runners along the way!

Bry Banashefski

She/her

Los Angeles, CA

Coached by: Danielle Snyder

Running Goals:

- Run my first 100 miler

- PR my 50miler

- Podium a race in my age group

I grew up moving around the world, living in a new place every three years. I've been athletic my entire life, starting with gymnastics, then dabbling in basketball, volleyball, and track and field. But with moving as often as I did, the one constant sport was long distance running, since I only needed myself and a pair of shoes. My dad introduced me to long distance running when I was in fourth grade, and I've been hooked ever since.

I found trail running in 2020. As a former road runner who loves the mountains, trail running combined my favorite two of my things and curated a fun, supportive, joyful community. I was hooked! I've been trail running and racing since then, but mostly just as a fun hobby. I applied to this scholarship because I want to take my running to the next level. I have a strong base from years of running, but I am excited to intentionally and systematically train for a year to push my physical and mental limits.

Chloe Rylance

She/her

Greeley, CO & Ambleside, England

Coached by: Rachel Spaulding

Running Goals:

- Feel good running fast again!

- National vest for the World or Euro Mountain Running Championships.

- Race competitively at a world major mountain race!

I started running when I was around 8 years old in my home town of Ambleside, England by doing local mountain and fell races. My success in national and international competitions inspired me to move to Colorado to compete in NCAA cross country/track for the past four years. I am now ready to build back my mountain fitness and get competitive in trail running again!

After struggling with some serious burnout for the last year of my NCAA career, I’ve taken the past few months getting healthy and building my endurance base back up. I’m excited to work with a coach to introduce workouts back into my schedule and re-learn to ‘trust the process’. I am looking forward to using Rachel’s expertise to hopefully put my name back out there on the trail scene!

Collin Sepulveda

He/him

San Antonio, TX

Coached by: Ryan Miller

Running Goals:

- Run a sub-2:27 marathon and continue lowering my personal best on the roads.

- Compete in more trail ultras and become a stronger, more well-rounded runner across different terrain.

- Grow Golden Hour Run Club into a larger, more impactful community that gets more people moving and connected through running.

I’m a registered nurse who works night shifts and an elite distance runner chasing a sub-2:27 marathon, equally at home on the roads and the trails. Running is a huge part of my life—I lead Golden Hour Run Club and love bringing people together through the sport while sharing my own training, racing, and recovery journey.

I applied to the All In Trails Scholarship because I’m always working to become the best version of myself, both on and off the run. Running it back with Ryan Miller reminded me how powerful shared miles can be for growth, perspective, and connection. As a nurse working night shifts, I’ve seen how meaningful movement and time outside can be for mental and physical well-being.

Eva Keohane

She/her

Fort Collins, CO

Coached by: Rachel Spaulding

Running Goals:

- Build confidence and strength as a mountain athlete

- Race 50-100ks at a competitive level

- Maintain long-term health and consistent training

I grew up playing many sports, with a primary focus on volleyball, but eventually gravitated toward running in college. I competed in cross country and track at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, and after moving to Fort Collins, CO for my PhD, I explored triathlons and gravel bike racing before finding my niche in trail running. The Fort Collins trail running community has been a huge part of making the sport both competitive and incredibly fun for me!

I applied for this scholarship because it creates access to high-quality coaching for athletes who may not otherwise be able to afford it. Beyond coaching, it fosters a supportive community of individuals who share similar goals and believe in pushing their limits. After college, the idea of finding a coach felt daunting, and I often questioned whether my abilities were “worth” that investment. This scholarship would give me the opportunity to work with great coaches and confidently invest in my growth as an athlete.

Eve Garry

She/her

Salt Lake City, Utah

Coached by: Lindsey McDonald

Running Goals:

-Place top 10 women in a trail 100 miler

-Reach further distances

-Train with more intention while still sharing my love for running with others

I grew up playing lacrosse and soccer and got into running, so I wouldn’t come in last for the mile during conditioning. I also rowed club crew for a brief time in college.

I applied for this scholarship after finishing my first 100 mile race and knowing I wanted to do it again but better. I’m excited for a more structured training plan and guidance on how to best cross train and strength train. Before this I mostly just trained for ultras based on “vibes”.

Hannah Grall

She/her

Salida, Colorado

Coached by: Jarred Ervin

Running Goals:

-Over the next three years, I would love to test myself at more 100 mile events depending on how Javelina Jundred goes this fall. I want to qualify for and eventually compete in some of the most iconic trail races we have here in the US such as Leadville, Hardrock, and Western States. My goal is to see how far I can push my physical and mental limits doing the sport that I love!

-Parallel to my personal racing, I would ideally love to use my running platform for environmental and social impact. It would be pretty rad to partner with environmental organizations dedicated to protecting the public lands and wild spaces where we play. I am also passionate about fostering the next generation of runners here in Salida and could see that taking shape in the form of coaching at the local school or helping to start a Girls on the Run chapter in our region (or something similar to introduce young students to running). I’ve come a long way in a short time, and in three years, I hope to be an athlete whose success is defined as much by community impact and environmental stewardship as it is by race results.

Originally from Michigan, I picked up running after college and eventually moved to the Adirondacks of upstate NY to pursue graduate studies in natural resource conservation while exploring technical mountain trails. Now living in Salida, Colorado, I feel extremely lucky to have access to dry trails year-round, awesome skiing all winter, and a running community that encourages all of us from running the local beer run club route to 200+ mile events!

I applied for this scholarship because I had reached a point where my self taught training needed professional structure and support to transition into the world of 100 mile racing and I have been eager to race my first 100 miler for the past few years now. While my personal training and experience has carried me through a few 50 milers, I lacked the financial resources to hire a coach who could help me reach my running goals and help provide structure to my training. I haven’t had the financial means to hire a professional, I’ve relied on my own research and knowledge I’ve gained from the experienced runners I’ve met through the running community. This scholarship is incredible because is helps bridge the financial gap that has kept me from professional coaching, allowing me to finally work with an experienced coach who can help me push my limits further than I ever could on my own.

Helen Taylor

She/her

Salt Lake City, UT

Coached by: Rachel Spaulding

Running Goals:

- Run my first trail race (hopefully a 50K) and learn how to utilize a guide runner (this will require a lot of vulnerability, trust, and self-advocacy... which I'm still learning!)

- Connect more with other runners with disabilities and volunteer or participate in their events

- Possibly break my 5K PR. I have unfinished business there and have told myself I'll never be as fast as I was before I got sick. I'd like to believe trail running and a new, healthier mindset can disprove that.

I’m a former collegiate distance runner who competed in cross country and track at Columbia College (SC), focusing on the 4x800, 5K, 10K, and eventually the marathon. After graduating, I became profoundly deaf due to autoimmune inner ear disease. After years of physical and occupational therapy to relearn balance and safe movement, as well as learning American Sign Language, I returned to running through the trails, where I now focus on adaptive movement and accessibility in outdoor spaces. Outside of running, I am an improviser who promotes accessibility in theatre and produces improv shows that benefit the Deaf community.

I applied for the scholarship because I want everyone to feel welcome on the trails. As a Deaf runner, I’ve been left out of conversations and even pushed off paths when I miss cues from passing runners. This scholarship will let me show up at races and run groups where they may have never seen a Deaf or disabled runner, giving others the chance to learn and make their spaces more inclusive.

Indira Palmer

She/her

Portland, OR

Coached by: Parker Farabee

Running Goals:

- Become more competitive in ultra-trail distances

- Compete in a 100-mile and 200-mile race

- Build a strong foundation for long-term success

I began running at age 12, competing in cross country and road races up until my sophomore year of college. After a neurological diagnosis and brain surgery, I stepped away from the sport for five years. Through patience and perseverance, I gradually returned and now compete as an ultrarunner, continually pushing my limits and finding joy on the trails.

This scholarship represents the next chapter in my self-driven return to running. I am excited to lean into mentorship and guidance to take my running to the next level and challenge my limits. I’m also focused on growing into a stronger athlete without losing sight of balance, relationships, and healthy habits. Through All in Trail, I also hope to deepen my connection in the trail running community through supporting others, especially those who are finding their way back to the sport after challenges or setbacks.

Julia Hartig

She/her

La Crosse, WI

Coached by: Ryan Miller

Running Goals: - Place top ten in a 100 miler

- Meet more dirt bag trail runners AND see a band of mountian goats while on a run 🤠

- Finish a 200 mile race

Since I was a kid, I've been taught to value nature and moving through it—a kind of free-range upbringing that encouraged curiosity and motion. Running has always been apart of my life, but in recent years it's grown into something much bigger since discovering trail running and ultramarathoning. It's become a way to wander, to play, and to deepen my connection to the places I love. After running my first marathon a little over a year ago and participating in a few ultras since, I keep circling back to that fact: that it's a joy and a privilege to take part in this sport. I’m stoked to see where the next year carries me, and wherever it is, I hope to appreciate the process every step of the way

I applied for this scholarship because I want to take my running and training to the next level. I’ve proven to myself that I can put in the work, and now I want to make that effort as effective as possible. After a year of training without a formal schedule—relying mostly on intuition and how I feel—I’m ready to balance that experiential approach with a more structured, scientific one. Beyond performance, I want to learn how to be a lifelong runner: how to train sustainably and safely while still having fun, so I can keep chasing miles well into a ripe old age.

Kaleb Brown

He/him

Glendale, Arizona

Coached by: Jarred Ervin

Running Goals:

- Place top 3 at a local trail race

- Run a Boston Marathon–qualifying time

- Complete my first ultramarathon

I come from a basketball background and played at a high level throughout high school before transitioning to endurance running in college. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, I became more competitive and have since completed multiple 5Ks, half marathons, and marathons.

I applied to the All In Trail Scholarship because I’m ready to take my running to the next level and be more intentional with my training, racing, and nutrition. I also want to represent the disability community within running. As someone with a stutter, running has become an outlet that has helped me immensely, both mentally and physically.

Kevin Hang

He/him

Seattle, WA

Coached by: Parker Farabee

Running Goals: - Complete my 1st 50 miler

- Complete my 1st 100 miler

- Qualify for Boston

I grew up playing basketball and tennis. Eventually I picked up weight lifting during college. Then after college, I got into running ultramarathons.

I applied to this scholarship in hopes of completing a 100 miler in the memory of my best friend, Brian Yang. It has been a goal of mine since his passing. Alongside his family and close friends, we chose to do Ultra-Marathons as a way to honor the life he lived, which was being limitless.

Lee Harwood

He/they

San Francisco, CA

Coached by: Parker Farabee

Running Goals:

- Complete my first 100 mile race

- Qualify for the Boston marathon

- PR my 50k

I grew up running track in Texas, but stepped away from the sport after high school. Years later, while beginning my transition, I found my first way back to running- this time on the trails- and it helped me feel at home in my body. Since then have progressed I have been training for my first ultras, half marathons, and triathlons.

I applied for this scholarship because I was at a turning point in my athletic journey, both as a runner and as a transgender man. Trail running helped me reconnect with my body during my transition and gave me a sense of belonging I hadn’t felt before, but I was navigating that growth largely on my own. Having access to coaching and mentorship removed a major barrier and allowed me to train with guidance from people who know what they’re doing. It’s helped me grow not only as an endurance athlete, but as a visible trans runner in a space where representation still matters.

Malia Hee

She/Her

Seattle, WA

Coached by: Joe McConaughy

Running Goals:

- Complete my first 100 miler

- Run a sub-3 road marathon

- Build my running fitness while staying healthy and injury free

Prior to running, I was a competitive saber fencer for 16 years, competing on both domestic and international circuits, including for Temple University’s top-five–ranked Division I women’s program. Throughout my fencing career, I won five national championships and hold the career record for most saber wins in Temple Fencing’s 50+ year program.

Since I do not come from a traditional running background, I have longed for a coach to consult on my training. I have always been a curious athlete, wanting to understand the rationale behind a particular workout or training build. I am eager to connect with my coach and fellow scholarship recipients, and I hope to walk away from this program with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to flourish in the mountains.

Mariah Smiley

She/her

Gilbert, AZ

Coached by: Lindsey McDonald

Running Goals:

- Finish a challenging 100 mile race on the trails

- Cocodona 250

- Triple Crown of 200s (Tahoe 200, Bigfoot 200, Moab 240)

As a Diné and Chiricahua Apache woman, I view running as a personal ceremony and a way for me to spiritually connect with myself and the land. For this reason, I love running ultramarathon distances on the trails. My most recent “ceremony” or ultra was my first 100-miler (Saddles 100) in October 2025. I finished it with support from my pacers and crew.

I applied to this scholarship due to limited funds to pay for coaching services and races. I’m excited to work with my coach Lindsey this year to learn how I can further improve as an ultra runner. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to positively represent the indigenous community and inspire healing through movement. Running is medicine. Running is ceremony. Ahéhéé (thank you)!

Michael Schneider

He/him

Bellevue, WA

Coached by: Joe McConaughy

Running Goals:

- Continued growth in overall fitness

- Competing in a first 50k

- Finding more ways to give back to the community.

I’ve been running for just over seven years and competed at the collegiate level. I’m excited to start racing trail races and to continue developing and learning as much as I can!

I applied for this scholarship for the opportunity to be coached and mentored by the talented coaches at the All In Trail Collective. I’m also excited for the opportunity to meet others who are passionate about trail running, not only in a competitive sense, but also passionate about spreading the sport and supporting the community. I look forward to my first year of trail races and am excited to have guidance from others as I make the transition from collegiate running.

Running Goals:

- Run Western States!

- <5 hr 50K

- Deepen my roots in the local trail community

(BONUS) Keep rolling with the greatest crew because trail running is a team sport <3

I am a thru-hiker and ultrarunner! I love running because it nurtures my relationship with myself and the more-than-human world. After hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2023, I started spending all my weekends running trails. A few months later, I signed up for my first 50K–and I’ve been hooked ever since!

I am so stoked to be an All In Trails athlete for a second year! Working with Coach Jess has helped me develop so much as an ultrarunner. I feel stronger, faster, and happier than ever.

Running Goals:

- Run my first 100k race!

- Become more confident in racing

- Continue running joyfully, healthily, and consistently

I grew up in the performing arts, not really involved in sports. After moving to the PNW in 2021, I took up trail running as a way to connect with my body, mind, and the world around me.

I applied to this scholarship to build more connections in the sport and give myself more tools to help achieve my goals. I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge, trying new things, having fun, and elevating my training! I’m really passionate about making running more welcoming and accessible, and I’m excited to leverage my experience with the All in Trail Collective to empower my own community.

Running Goals:

- First 100k

- First 100 miles

From a small town next to nowhere in Oregon. I like drinking protein matcha and crying after my long runs.

SuChann Yang

He/him

Saint Paul, MN

Coached by: Jessica Schnier

Running Goals:

- Rio Del Lago 100

- Weekly/Bi-weekly Trail Run Club

- Kettle Moraine 100

I played tennis growing up and stayed active through strength training before discovering running four years ago while honoring a promise I made to my brother. Ultrarunning has since become a vehicle for personal growth and a way to encourage others—especially those who don’t see themselves represented in the sport—to step onto the trails.

I applied to this scholarship because I’ve built my running almost entirely through trial and error—hero miles, DNFs, and learning the hard way—without ever having a coach to help me train with intention. I was searching for a space that was also searching for someone like me, someone who didn’t grow up around running, let alone trail or ultrarunning. When a friend shared this scholarship, it felt like a signal to stop guessing and start building something sustainable. I want to be part of a community where representation matters and where underrepresented runners don’t just survive races, but learn how to thrive. I don’t want to just finish races; I want to finish them well and eventually help others believe they can start.

We’re deeply grateful to our sponsors and partners, including Rainshadow Running, Aravaipa Running, Trail Animals Running Club, Tejas Trails, Vert Running Series and Daybreak Racing for offering complimentary race entries for these athletes. Additionally, we’d like to thank program sponsors Brooks, Territory Run Co., Injinji, Näak, and Squirrel’s Nut Butter for providing athletes with gear and products for their year ahead!
